For the first time, il Botolo travelled to St. John’s, the capital and largest city of the Canadian province of Newfoundland and Labrador.
il Botolo wines were launched at a special Italian Wine Tasting Dinner held at Delta Hotel by Marriot, St. John’s, on September 20. The evening was hosted by il Botolo’s new importer, P&S Fine Wines, a consolidated and respected agency active in the Atlantic Canada market.
Guests included 45 people ranging from restaurant owners, sommeliers, representatives from the Newfoundland Liquor Control Board to some of the city’s most acclaimed wine lovers.
A five-course meal was executed by Delta Hotel Chef Pierre Le Page and his team and the featured dishes were beautifully paired with Botolo wines.
il Botolo’s Ivana Pomposo, export manager for Canada, guided guests in a tasting of some of il Botolo’s finest wines, which included Piemonte DOC Chardonnay, Barbera d’Asti DOCG, Barbera d’Asti Superiore DOCG, Nizza DOCG and Moscato d’Asti DOCG.
St. John’s is a unique and thrilling destination, full of character and charm, being one of the oldest cities of North America. We at il Botolo believe it is a perfect fit for our boutique winery, which was built on the desire to share the love of history, culture and the vineyard landscapes of Piedmont, where winemaking is a poetic process.
Cheers to this new partnership and we look forward to working with P&S Fine Wines and to the exciting opportunities in this market!
