The second edition of Alice for Children’s “Stories of Good Cuisine” was held on November 28, this time in Milan’s impressive location, Cascina Cuccagna.
During the evening, Alice for Children President Diego Masi presented the project “Alice Italian Food Academy” which involved the building of a professional Italian cooking school in Nairobi in collaboration with the Istituto Carlo Porta di Milano. The project is creating opportunities for youth from the slums and is preparing them for qualified jobs and the opportunity for a better future.
The evening was highly convivial and guests were able to enjoy the wonderful dishes prepared by “Un Posto a Milano” using fresh, seasonal quality ingredients, paired with our wines. Especially appreciated were the decisive aromas and notes of our Barbera d’Asti DOCG and Barbera d’Asti Superiore DOCG and the fruity scents of our Piemonte DOC Chardonnay. At the end of the meal, our Moscato d’Asti DOCG was beautifully paired with special cookies prepared by students from Istituto Carlo Porta di Milano.
Guests were invited to take part in a lottery, with proceeds going to good causes. Prizes included dinner for two at Berton restaurant, il Botolo wines and an exclusive volume of “Il Cucciaio dì Argento”, a well- known manual of Italian cooking.
For us at il Botolo it was a fantastic evening, one of solidarity and sharing.
We wish to thank once again Alice for Children and its marvelous staff for this extraordinary collaboration and we look forward to working together again in the future!
