The annual growth cycle of grapevines continues in our vineyards and the plant evolution is excellent, with an earlier timeline compared to 2019. The hot weather in the last three months and the abundant rainfalls in May and beginning of June have favored the ripening of grapes.
Despite an isolated hailstorm that hit the area at the beginning of July, overall climatic conditions so far are expected to produce an excellent vintage for all grape varietals grown by our Estate.
Our agronomists continue to monitor our vineyards on a daily basis to ensure the yield of the highest quality of grapes at time of harvest. Il Botolo applies best agronomic practices, including thinning of the bunches. An initial thinning was performed at the end of June and the next one, which is the most important, will be conducted when the grapes change color, around the beginning of August. This practice will ensure a uniform production that will improve and optimize the final quality.
