Piemonte Chardonnay
Consumers tend to be biased about Chardonnay because they think they know what Chardonnay should taste like, but because it is so diverse, consumers are often surprised by what they taste! Chardonnay is the most widely planted grapes across the map. The French use 100% Chardonnay grapes to produce Burgundy and as a blend to produce Champagne.
In Italy it is used often with Pinot to produce bottle-fermented sparkling wine and is vinified as 100% for Chardonnay. Chardonnay is cultivated across Italy, but in Piemonte, in the provinces of Alessandria, Asti and Cuneo, the production has been accorded DOC status, confirming the excellence achieved by the product in this area.
Il Botolo proposes two versions of Piemonte Chardonnay.
The first is fresh, with notes of banana and green apple. The second version is slightly oaked, and is more structured, with rich notes of vanilla and honey. Both wines are elegant and harmonious.
Il Botolo Piemonte Chardonnay is well appreciated in our markets, and it recently gained the approval of our US importer, who will soon import significant quantities into the US market.
