Last week a selected panel of journalists coming from Norway, Russia, Denmark, Sweden, The Netherlands, Finland, Poland, and the UK took part in a 3-day tour discovering the wines from Monferrato, with some of the highlights being Grignolino, Ruchè, Barbera d’Asti and Nizza.
The aim was to promote the excellence of Monferrato wines in target Northern European markets. The program included two seminars dedicated to Barbera d’Asti and was further enrichened by visits to some of the wineries in the area, including il Botolo Azienda Agricola.
Our team welcomed the journalists to our winery on a hot and sunny day, where they were able to take in the beauty of our vineyards, while enjoying a fresh and crisp glass of Piemonte DOC Chardonnay.
After a quick tour of our cellars, lunch was offered in the garden, the menu featuring classic Piedmontese ravioli al plin with ricotta and spinach. As a pairing, we selected our delightful and fruity Barbera d’Asti DOCG, whose balance and complexity were much appreciated by our guests. Dessert included a classic bonnet and panna cotta, which were beautifully paired with our Brachetto d’Acqui DOCG and Moscato d’Asti DOCG.
