For the first time, the Association of Nizza DOCG producers hosted a Forum, aimed at promoting the Nizza DOCG denomination amongst food and beverage professionals.
The Forum was held on November 18 2019 at the Sant’Uffizio Relais (located in Penango d’Asti), with Michelin star chef Enrico Bartolini.
Bartolini spoke to the 40 participants from the food and beverage industry, as well as journalists and sommeliers, on how to manage products from the territory, and in particular, on how to manage wines that bring added value to a restaurant.
The seminar was moderated by journalist Marco Trabucco (from the paper Repubblica and Guide dell’Espresso, and speakers included Gianni Bertolino, President of the Association of Nizza producers, Alessandro Masnaghetti, who drew the vineyards and created a detailed Nizza DOCG map showing the hills and vineyards of the 18 municipalities that are permitted to produce the Nizza denomination, and sommelier Davide Canina.
The seminar marks the first in a series of appointments to give food and beverage professionals a better knowledge of the peculiarities of Nizza DOCG, of the nature of the denomination’s terroir, and ideal food pairings to help restaurants create the best territorial-driven wine list possible.
At the end of Forum, participants were invited to take part in a Walk Around Tasting and meet with the 29 producers of Nizza DOCG. After the tastings, a gala dinner was offered under the direction of resident chef Gabriele Boffa.
